About

I'm Lori and I'm best known as Mom to three beautiful kids and a wife to one pretty great guy. Since the birth of my first child, I have been on a quest to find a way to stay at home to raise them and still manage to have an outside interest and a source of income of my own.

I started on my WAHM adventure by making candles. I owned and operated my own candle/soap/bath and body business for four years before temporarily calling it quits to give birth to my second child. After the birth of my daughter, I decided to enter into the candle/fragrance/soap supply business. I owned and operated Bubbles 'n Lights for six years before selling to Bitter Creek in the winter of 2006. The hectic pace of the business and the demands of now three kids were just a bit too much to take and I needed to step back and take a breather for a bit.

While taking my self-imposed holiday from business, I had time to really sit back and re-evaluate what I like to do. I know that I love crafting of all kinds and I've been able to get back into doing some of that. I also knew that when it comes to business I really like to come up with the "idea part" of the business. I love the planning, creating the logos, product labels, the look of the product, etc. Oddly enough, I started out as a marketing and advertising major in college before switching over to a degree in Agriculture.  I guess you really do come full circle at times.

With both of my businesses, I had several websites and with each one I learned a bit more about web design, function, content management systems, site builders, graphics, photo imaging, etc. I found that i really enjoy doing this sort of work more than I enjoyed actually operating a business where I made the item, boxed it up and shipped it to my customers. What's that old adage?? Do what you love and you'll never work another day in your life. I feel as if that's where I am right now at this point in my life.

So why should you hire me to help you with the development of your website? Well, the best, most obvious reason is that I've been right where you are. I know what it's like to wear every single hat in the small business from janitor to accountant to shipping/receiving clerk to product research and development specialist to webmaster. I know that there are never enough hours in the day no matter how skilled you are at time management. I know that there are demands to every business and those demands can be especially great to home-based businesses. I know how you can wish every day that you can just create your product and not worry about all the other "stuff."

This is why Digi Girl Friday was born!
